Proverbs 16:33

33  kThe lot is cast into the lap,

but its every decision is lfrom the Lord.

1 Samuel 9:15–17

15 Now the day before Saul came, sthe Lord had trevealed to Samuel: 16 Tomorrow about this time I will send to you a man from the land of Benjamin, uand you shall anoint him to be prince1 over my people Israel. He shall save my people from the hand of the Philistines. vFor I have seen2 my people, because their cry has come to me. 17 When Samuel saw Saul, the Lord told him, wHere is the man of whom I spoke to you! He it is who shall restrain my people.

1 Samuel 10:20–21

20 Then Samuel gbrought all the tribes of Israel near, and the tribe of Benjamin was taken by lot. 21 He brought the tribe of Benjamin near by its clans, and the clan of the Matrites was taken by lot;1 and Saul the son of Kish was taken by lot. But when they sought him, he could not be found.

Matthew 6:26–30

26 gLook at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. hAre you not of more value than they? 27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his ispan of life?1 28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, jeven Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, kO you of little faith?
